For the Heute app and the website heute.today

In short

Heute collects no data. There is no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no third-party software. Your entries live on your devices and in your own iCloud. We never see them.

1. Your entries

What you write in the app – entries, notes, times – is stored on your device. If iCloud is turned on, the app syncs your entries between your devices through the private iCloud database of your Apple ID. That database belongs to your iCloud account; we, as the provider of the app, have no access to it. Apple processes it under its own privacy policy.

If iCloud is turned off, your entries stay on the device only. Deleting the app removes them from the device; entries in iCloud can be deleted in your device’s iCloud settings.

2. Widgets, Apple Watch and Siri

Widgets and the Apple Watch read the same entries on your devices. If you use Siri or Shortcuts, Apple processes your voice input under its own terms; the app only receives the recognised text.

3. Purchases

Should the app ever offer something for purchase, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple. We do not learn who bought something, only from the device itself whether a purchase exists.

4. App Store and TestFlight

When you download the app from the App Store or TestFlight, Apple processes data under its own responsibility. If you send us feedback through TestFlight or have agreed to share crash reports with developers, Apple passes these on to us without your name.

5. The website

The website sets no cookies, loads no fonts, scripts or images from other servers and contains no analytics. The example list on the home page saves nothing: what you check off or swipe away stays in your browser window.

When you visit the site, our hosting provider processes technically necessary data (IP address, time, requested address, browser identifier) in server logs to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The logs are deleted after a short time. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

6. Email

If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Since we collect no data that can be linked to a person, there is nothing about the app we could disclose. Questions to: hallo@heute.today
